If you are one of those adrenaline junkies, no wonder you are exploring wildlife adventures! Truth be told, these aren’t for the faint hearted, so you better prepare for everything that’s coming your way!
Options are plenty and they all depend on the amount of courage (and craze!) you’ve got going on on the inside. When we went on our exploration tours, the whole crew was amazed by what we’ve seen and experienced, and luckily, we’ve had it all documented so we can re-experience the whole thing, whenever we’re struck by a hint of nostalgia.
We’ll lay out a few of our favorite suggestions hoping at least some of them will resonate with you.
NOTE: Our choices in this post weren’t chronologically or geographically organized.
You can only imagine how exciting it can get being surrounded by these elusive, world’s most endangered and extremely dangerous species! Not only that this would be an incredibly rewarding experience but it would pump your adrenaline glands through the roof!
Currently, India is embracing its (almost) 30 reserves and making a great effort to conserve its remaining tigers; additionally, Nepal is also investing in innovative conservation methods that would contribute to protecting the tigers within its national parks.
We visited Bandhavgarh and Ranthambore, Kanha and Bardia in Nepal.
Grizzly bears in the Rockies
Grizzly bears are amongst the eight remaining bear species on the planet, and are officially categorized as subspecies of brown bears.
Brown bears aren’t as vulnerable as other bear species, so hopefully spotting one shouldn’t be impossible!
Grizzlies are enormous! Being in the presence of a creature so huge and powerful is a life-changing experience, no doubt. Depending on the time of year you are embarking on your trip, you may be lucky enough to spot little bear cubs out to play. Too cute!
Wildlife in Europe
Here’s the good news if you are residing in Europe – the excitement and wildlife aren’t that far from home! While Europe is mostly celebrate for its history, culture, architecture and politics, what’s often neglected are its exotic and impressive locations.
Want to see wolfs and bears? No problem, Europe’s got them! Are you into different bird species? Done! Would you want to see whales? Sure, Europe will make these encounters happen. Virtually, wherever you go on this amazing continent there’ll be things for you to explore.
Gorilla tracking in Rwanda and Uganda
If you are one of the people who have “must see a gorilla live” on their bucket list, this is the time to try it. Truth is, being face to face with a gorilla is such a life changing occurrence, maybe even the most exciting of all wildlife experiences.
Their intimidating size combined with their unexpected gentle grace is terrifying and beautiful at the same time. Not to mention the fact they behave so much like us that being around them is an utterly perplexing, yet so rewarding a situation.
Since you will probably be heading this way, we’d always advise brining photo equipment with you so that you can capture the gorgeousness of the site in front of you. Our base stuff were, obviously, wireless trail cameras but you can bring some lighter equipment – if you are not that experienced.
This is one of those sights that is so soothing for all the senses and so mesmerizing at the same time! Just imagine having an enormous whale coming out of and then disappear into the ocean depths with such a splash that will leave you speechless!
Whale watching is getting more and more popular with wildlife lovers and is very widespread wherever the whales are! There are tour boats that can take you around, just find the right option.
Well, wherever you go, we hope you’ll have an amazing time!
