A carpet is something which is mainly used to cover the floor. They are also known as area rugs and these days there are a number of varieties of carpets that are available. These days putting a carpet on the floor is a kind of fashion. Also they have some benefits. Woven carpet

They are much similar to the woven cloth and they are produced on a loom only. One can find multiple colours of yarns which are used to form different intricate designs and patterns. They are mainly made from fibres like wool, coir, jute and coconut wood sisal. These woven carpets have high quality and they are very much durable. But the manufacturing time of these carpets are usually longer and that is why; they are also a bit expensive. But it has a very royal and aristocratic look.

Tufted carpet

They are mainly produced in a tufted machine where the tuft yarns are properly inserted through a fabric backing. They can be of a single colour or of non colour. If they are no coloured then the carpets are dyed and then printed. As these are machine produced carpets they are manufactured quite fast and so the price is also not very high.

Needle felt carpet

They are very technologically advanced. They are also very durable and it is mainly produced through the electrostatic attraction of different fibres and together they form a unique combination in a carpet. They are very popular in commercial places like hotels, malls and business areas. But these needle felt carpets are a bit expensive than the other available varieties.

Flat weave carpet

This is a kind of carpet which is mainly produced by the interlocking of waft threads and warps. There are mainly two types of weave carpets. One is the tapestry weave and the other is the plain weave. The plain weave or the flat weave is a very uncommon kind of carpet and they are not produced in all the countries. So they are expensive in comparison to the tapestry weaved ones.

Hooked carpet

These are the simplest forms of carpets which are mainly formed by pulling strings of clothes. The clothes that are mainly used are of cotton or of wool. So they are mainly handmade carpets.

Before buying any type of carpet one needs to measure the floor area of the room or the hall for which they are going to buy it. Otherwise, the carpet may not look nice if it is smaller or larger in size.
