It was Sultan Shah Jahan, who was also the Begum of Bhopal, during his reign the construction work of this mosque commenced. However, a severe dearth of funds compelled the Begum to call off the construction. It was again in 1971 that the construction of this mosque was completed.
Bhojpur Temple: Right on the banks of the Betwa River is situated a broken down and incomplete temple. This is known as the Bhojpur Temple. The main attraction of this place of worship is a Shivalinga that is 18ft tall and has a diameter of 7.5 ft. It has been estimated that this temple probably belonged to the 11th century.
Gohar Mahal: If you are all thumbs up when it comes to female power, then you should definitely visit Gohar Mahal. Travelling to Gohar Mahal will not be a problem from any one of the hotels in Bhopal India, that you will be staying in. It was built by Gohar Begum, who was the first ever woman ruler of Bhopal. This palace was built in the year 1820.
Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya: Also known as the National Museum of Mankind, it was built in the year 1985. Covering a large area of almost 200 acres, this museum houses some of the most interesting findings from Madhya Pradesh.
